Rhonda Funk - Author

Rhonda Funk was born and raised in the inner-city north end of Winnipeg, Manitoba, as the eldest of three children. At just 16, she met her husband, Jon, and together, they built a beautiful life. After the birth of their first child, they moved from Winnipeg to the countryside, welcomed their second son, and soon after, married.

Rhonda pursued her passion as a child and youth care support worker, dedicating herself to working with high-risk youth in Winnipeg. During her third pregnancy, with Rhonda’s unwavering support and encouragement, Jon made a career shift to become self-employed. Rhonda decided to leave her career to focus on raising their children. After welcoming their fourth child, she took on the role of office manager for their family-owned business, balancing the needs of home and work seamlessly.

Together, they expanded their first home, building their dream house while Rhonda devoted her time as a stay-at-home mom and the backbone of their business operations. Known for her empathy and understanding of the struggles faced by those in poverty, Rhonda actively supports her community through a free site on Facebook, hosting events where people can access items at no cost.

Rhonda’s love for books and reading led her to fulfill a dream of becoming a Little Free Library steward—not once, but twice—bringing the joy of reading to her community through two locations. Her interests span from hiking in nature and admiring trees to enjoying the arts, fishing, gardening, and dancing.

She dreams that her children will always find their creative outlets, expressing themselves without fear and remaining confident in being seen, heard, and felt through their creations.

Writing has been a lifelong passion for Rhonda, and while she once set it aside, she has rediscovered her love for the craft. Inspired by the transformative power of words, she aims to connect with her readers, leaving a lasting impression through heartfelt storytelling.
